About us

Forty years, Three generations....

.. .... .... One very special local store!

Our History

In 1948 Aldo Bellini arrived in Ilkeston having travelled from the small town of Trescore in Northern Italy. He found employment at Stanton Ironworks where he learnt to speak English and became familiar with local culture. In 1959 he entered into the motor trade backed up with engineering experience from Alfa Romeo, Milan...this was to be the spark that begun forty years serving Ilkeston's community.

The early 1960's saw the opening of 'Kirk Hallam Garage', complete with Car Sales, Petrol Station, Supermarket and Car Workshop. Then in 1985 the opportunity for development was seen in an old car dealership at 242, Heanor Road Ilkeston. And so Peter Bellini, Aldo's Son, bought the land and begun construction.

Our present store still occupies this site, albeit much extended and now offers our customers a genuine choice, and embraces some of the old traditions that are fast disappearing.
